About Turath

Our history and stories, told through games, animation and art, made with care.

Turath (تراث) means heritage: the stories, places and values one generation hands to the next.

In a burning library, a Mongol soldier raises his sword over an old man in a green robe.

Who we are

We are a one‑person studio in Egypt, making games, animation and art inspired by Arab and Islamic history and culture, with modern design.

Turath is shaped by Islam, as a faith and as a civilisation, and by the Arab heritage around it. We bring their places, their people and their values into our games, animation and art, and we present them with respect.

لَقَدْ كَانَ فِي قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ لِّأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ

“There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding.”

The Qur’an · Surah Yusuf 12:111

How we work

Turath’s idea

  • Our history and stories

Arab and Islamic history holds stories that games and films have rarely told: its cities, its scholars, and the people who lived through its great events. Our work starts there.

  • Told through games, animation and art

A game puts you inside the moment: you don’t read about Baghdad in 1258, you cross it, sword in hand. Animation and art carry the stories we watch and keep.

  • Made with care

We research before we build, from the architecture to the clothing to the words on screen. And everything we make speaks both Arabic and English.

Gameplay: surrounded by four soldiers, Yusuf cuts them down with a spinning, fiery strike.
